Rarest option
A few months ago there was a thread about the rarest option on our trucks. I just found one that I did not know about. On both I6's and 350's you could order through the factory an LPG conversion. I just received an original 72 sales book through Ebay and it was listed in there. Anybody else heard of this option?

sounds odd never heard of it, post a pic, i know that lpg option would be nice to have in times like this, we had Lpg in when i lived in Korea ran my tiburon off of it.

The 69 I just bought from the original owner is set up for lpg. The owner said he bought the conversion kit a few years after he bought the truck new. It is pretty handy to have as an option to the three regular gas tanks.

My dad says his family had an LPG-powered truck from this generation on their farm...
...and it caught fire, and burned to the ground.

LPG option was also offered in the 1971 sales brochure...I believe it was for the 350 CI. I flipped when I saw it too.
Last months issue of Classic Trucks magazine had an article (with pictures) of all the oddball options for our trucks. They made a big whoop out of how rare the factory Cruise Control option is...especially if found in working order. |

Another rare option was the stainless moulding for the drip rail-it is shown in the factory assembly manual with a big "cancelled "stamp on the page; maybe it was only offered for a very limited time. I've never seen one of these on one of our trucks. I know Scotts super trucks in Alberta sells them though.
