A/C Compressor might have taken a crap.

It is a Sanden 509 compressor. All of a sudden it is not blowing cold air and making a terrible noise when it is on. It also make a minor noise when it is off. This is what makes me think it might be the clutch...hope...hope...

How do I tell if it is the actual compressor, or just the clutch on the compressor?

If it is the compressor, do I have to do anything to flush the system before I put a new compressor on?
