Has anybody done this??

Taken a 60's cab and bed and put in on a 73--87 frame?

there is one in the build threads. I forgot who's truck it was. strodder maybe. I also thought about this. the cab floor had to be notched for the frame.

Yep, been there done that.....about 20 years ago.

It depends on how much work you want to do as to the end result.

Personally, unless your original frame is unuseable, I see no good reason to change the whole frame. Just upgrade the suspension, brakes and steering.

Yes and no. He welded the back half of a '73 frame onto his '65 frame. He also had to do some modifying and fabricating on the rear of his cab floor to allow for the different rear frame, to avoid the body lift look.

seems like more work than its worth, I like the frames with trailing arms on the 63-66 set up better than the newer ones, just do the disc brake upgrade.
