3 point seat belts

The PO installed a pair of 3 point seat belts into my truck but the problem is they they don't match and they are to short for me. I am 6'4" and I cant reach down to undo my emergency brake when they are buckled. Where can I get some good length seat belts.

I'm not 6'4", but should still be plenty long enough. Get the 140".

Re: 3 point seat belts

I got mine from http://www.julianos.com/. I'm 6'8" and I have plenty of room to move with them.

Why buy something when you can build it for twice the price..

Just because something can be done doesn't mean it should be done...

Re: 3 point seat belts

I used the seat belts from seatbeltplanet. The fit and look good. My only complaint is that you need to pull them really slow and smooth or else they lock and then you start over. It's an agrivation. Its almost a joke between my wife and on who can get thiers to work without catching. I don't know if all the aftermarket brands are that sensitive. I've been thinking about using the seat belts out of a 90 suburban for my next project.

ha! yeah its takes some getting used to. I found if you just take the tension off for a second you can keep pulling the belt. Been planning to see if theres any way to adjust them.

My buddy bought his through LMC for alot more $$ and he said they look to be the same thing. I haven't seen them yet though.

Re: 3 point seat belts

I want shoulder belts for my truck as well. What did you guys do for installing the shoulder strap anchor point? I feel bad about drilling holes in the cab. Any pictures would be helpful.

Thank you,
Kevin C

Re: 3 point seat belts

Don't feel bad. After 65? I think they all had a shoulder mounting point. Plus your truck will be way safer. Lap belts are good for eating the dash in an accident.

Theres a couple threads on here that explain where to mount the shoulder anchor. Should be easy to find. Once you get your stuff marked out, just need to drill a 7/16" hole (pilot hole first) and then bolt the anchor bolt to a backing plate that comes with the seatbelts.

I taped the steel backing plate to some 1/8" round rod for feeding it up the post. Once threaded in you can just yank the rod out.
