Brake Grabbin
I've got a front drum brake that is grabbing from time to time. just installed new shoes not long ago. any ideas?

Check the contact points on the backing plates where the shoes ride. If they're grooved the shoes can hang up on them and not retract properly when you release the brake pedal.

Possible Leaky wheel cylinder. When you install new shoes you change the plunger depth in the cylinder. THe cup could be trying to seal on a dirty part of the bore. Did you remember to put the short shoe to the front.

didnt notice any difference in the length of the shoes when i put them on. i will take the drum off and check that.

If you have 2 the same length on one side then check the other drum. Might have them mixed up. 2 shorts one side. 2 longs on the other. It's been done before.

When I got the 64 it had long shoes on left side and short shoes on right. I put new wheel cyl's on it and new adjuster's when I put my dual pot Mastercylinder on stops a lot better and doesn't pull to any side now.

sorry for the delayed response, but did get the brake issue fixed. rookie mistake i guess, i had the shoes reversed on that wheel. next time i will pay more attention to the fact that one is longer than the other. thanks for all the help
