what was last year of panels

Everything that I have found says 1970 was the last year because of the van popularity taking hold.

I have found a C20 panel that I am looking to purchase and it has a 71-72 front end in the pics. The guy swears it is all original but he still has not dug up the title yet. I have a feelin that someone just swapped a newerfront end on it. I am hoping to get back over and look at it closer next week

Richard

Yes 1970 was the last of the panels. The owner either switched grills/ bump or entire clip.

Thanks, that is what I remembered but wanted to double check. I have been trying to get this one since before I got my 1st panel & 3 Blazers. The guy seems to want to sell it but we just never seem to hook up.

Dang what happened. How can you be 68 panelman with no panel? LOL Send me a link when you do post. I love all the panels but the 68 is my favorite.

Re: what was last year of panels

a couple years ago I found an 80's panel.Basically a suburban with no window cut outs.I think it was made in Mexico. The add said it was driven back n forth from Mex to Tex.I remember it was cool as hell looking and perked up my interest.Wish I had saved the pic since I have not seen another.Anyone else seen one?
