Like my new turbines?

Just got these from a friend. Pulled them off a rusty '73. Need to get them cleaned up and move my 33's over...

I'm a big fan of rally's but I do love those wheels, post up a pic when you get them all on. Sweet truck, btw.

Which way are you installing the white letters?

Re: Like my new turbines?

Thanks. I too am a big fan of rally's. However, turbines are one of my favorite aftermarket wheels, especially since you don't see them much anymore. I had a very similar set on a '77 El Camino, and loved the look. Got a similar set on my '67 Plymouth.

I can't wait to get them cleaned up... I'll probably blast them lightly, but can't decide if I want to leave them bare or clear powder coat them.

I have some new center caps, but will need to get new lugs.

Re: Like my new turbines?

Those are getting hard to find. For a set that nice, I'd definitely clear them after you clean them up. Get a set of locking lug nuts too, just to be safe.

Old school rules! What size are those? They look larger than 15".

Re: Like my new turbines?

Thanks! I can't wait to get them on. Gonna get the tires off this weekend so I can clean them up. Gotta swap out a saggy/bent spring first. Then thinking about adding 2" lift blocks out back. I like a little more rake. Can't stand sagging rears, even when hauling...

BTW, they are 15x10, but do look larger next to the rallys, and white letters will stay out.

Re: Like my new turbines?

I love them, too! They look "just right" on a square body for that era-look. When I got my '90 Blazer new,one thing I appreciated about it was it was 1990 and car designs were quite a departure from the early '70s and here was a vehicle that for the most part looked unchanged for 18 years. So,to give it a more retro vibe I went with the finned aluminum wheels that had recently been discontinued. I found a set at the tire place I deal with in WVA. It was a mix of old style mag lugs and new style,so along with being "out dated" I got a decent discount. I took them home before mounting and bored the new style wheels out to accept the mag-style so they'd all match.

special-K, looks great! Are those 15x10 also? What size are you tires? I like the flares too. Been thinking about a set for mine.

Re: Like my new turbines?

Thanks. Those pictures were from when I listed it for sale. I hated letting it go...great vehicle,it was for me. 193,000+ with no real problems. The wheels were 10 x 15 with 12.50/33s. I took it to a spring shop and had them bring the front up an inch or two to level it up and help clear the tires. They "could" rub if you flexed it more than usual. But,I never tore up a fender flare. I like those, too. They just go with the body style but are also a great '70s retro touch. I'm wanting some for my '85 Jimmy now, which also has 10" wheels and 12.50s (35).
