Fuel gushing out when i top off my tank.

With all the other gas cap problems going on i decieded to post my own thread so i dont hijack another one.Fuel will start gushing out from a little line in front of my engine when i top off the tank.Im not going over board when i top off my tank.I stop once that pump stops i dont even try getting to the dollar amount. The problem use to only happen when it was realy cold or hot.In recent years it seemed to happen more.I have had different gas caps and that dosnt seem to help.I do have a charcoal canister in my engine bay.Where do you guys think i should start to fix this problem?

I would begin by assuring all the fuel hoses and lines are routed and connected correctly. Sounds like the vent line is not connected or not connected correctly.

that hose you describe is for the charcoal cannister// that hose is supposed tto go to a high loop in the passenger rear door post b4 exiting the cab to go foward of the motor // sounds like that high loop was removed from the circuit and your gas is siphoning out due to gravity

Cdowns is on the money! I suffered through the same issue. Need the high loop as stated. All the best, Pat

Im missing two lines coming off the canister.I do believe that high loop line is still there. My fuel pump does not have the return line.I guess i should replace that to.
