advice and opions LS ,vortec, 454. 87 swb

heres my questions, and any advice or 1st hand knowledge would be appreciated,
1st i just bought an 87 swb that is straight and has no rust 2wd.
2) im looking at different options on motors and trans
3) i have all old school bbc chevys right now all carburated, i could build a screamer bbc with 400t trans etc.
4) but been looking at turbos and superchargers
5) 4.8, 5.3,6.0 fuel injection, or how about a 454 vortec w turbo or charger 4l80 trans
6) now the problem im having is lack of experience with the fuel injected motors and running turbos, which of the motors listed above in ur knowledge will be the best way and or for the horse power to money ratio.
7) i really like my bbc and have run sbc chevys like them to but really enjoy the bbc.so i cant quiet concieve the concept of running smaller cubes with turbo or charger when u can do the same with bigger cubes.
8) but once again im not debating just trying to understand and get some real direction here on which way to go with this little truck. i like street ability now so the truck will be on thge street and strip occasionally just for fun.
i just need some positive input ,cause kinda at a cross road here. thanks for any help and advice and knowledge that you have already experienced.

LS motors can run on carbs too. All you need is a carb intake, electric fuel pump, and controller for the coils. FI 4.8 and 5.3 perform fairly similiar. A 6.0 or 6.2 adds some serious power. All LS engines respond well to cam upgrades. Youtube 4.8 turbo or supercharged engines. Crazy little engines.

Read this recent thread on 4.8 motors. I would not hesistate to install one in a future project.
