Electrical issue

I haven't really messed with it much but its on my 82 c10 with a 6.2 diesel.

The blinkers and brake lights work, but head and park lamps do not. also the power windows and blower motor do not work. Do these share a common feed circuit or dose it sound like I have seperate wiring issues?

Re: Electrical issue

The headlights are on there own circuit and do NOT go through the fuse box and in such have no connection to any of the other electric pieces not working. Headlamps are a low voltage circuit inside the truck and run the power for the lights through the headlight relay on the radiator core support. Power windows can be a lot of different things, switch (if the driver door switch fails neither window will work), circuit breakers in the fuse box, and the window motors themselves.

I would get a wiring diagram for your truck and spend time going through it with a test light or a volt meter. It is very difficult to diagnose a electrical problem without the vehicle and especially one that is 30 years old and had many hands in "fixin' it".

Re: Electrical issue

Ya, the truck was a "farm truck" that then sat for about the last 15 years. So I have a feeling I'm looking for corrosion and spots the mice needed more than me. By chance would any one have a link to a wiring diagram for the truck I could print?
