wierd cables

My new project is a 68 suburban. I've never seen these cables before. There is one on the front of the left side of the block, and one on the rear of the right side of the block. They run from the manifold bolts under the motor mounts. You guys ever seen these before?

Re: wierd cables

The problem is with the style.

Without the cable, there is no safety catch if the rubber part of the mount breaks.

Re: wierd cables

I have seen it on cars and trucks, with big and small block engines.

Re: wierd cables

Very interesting. I guess they had a few problems with the motor mounts failing. I will re-use them when I put in the new motor. Kinda unique.

I think the new rubber mounts have a safety feature built into them, but it wouldn't hurt to ask or do some research to see what the new style ones look like.
