Stock stat should be fine, but I understand going down to the 180* stat if you have enough other stuff putting out heat. I.e., a built tranny w/cooler, or in your case, the tvs1900.

If your putting out a good amount of heat load from the blower, the 180* will just help you run down the heat load a little quicker, and keep you from a panic attack in traffic. As always, it won't help much if your cooling system itself isn't up to the demand you put on it.

Don't go down to the 160*'s or anything like that. These motors are designed for 195-215*ish. Going lower will just make it run cold and rich.
