Re: Moser Differential Cover / Porterbuilt Stage 2
I ordered one of these yesterday. Thanks to Number98 and PB for making them happen. I have more in my diff cover than the price of the new Trac bar

Hey Number98, can you provide this measurement for me. From the passenger side housing to your new bar. Thanks, Nate

Re: Moser Differential Cover / Porterbuilt Stage 2
I don't remember what brand, I've had this rearend for 5 or 6 years...it started life from an '88 Suburban and has been under a '76 Blazer and now under my '70 GMC (swapped from leaf mounts to trailing arm). Right now it has the CPP bent bar, but I am going to be putting a complete PB extreme DM chassis under it so I wanted a PB bar.
Here's a shot of it now... |

Re: Moser Differential Cover / Porterbuilt Stage 2
Sorry the pic is pretty terrible, but it looks like almost exactly 4.5" right there.

Re: Moser Differential Cover / Porterbuilt Stage 2
Thanks for the pic Jason. The Moser cover measures 3-3/4" so it will be close.

Re: Moser Differential Cover / Porterbuilt Stage 2
FWIW, ordered my bent PB bar a week ago and it was waiting on me at the front door step when I got home. I love new parts...especially PB parts

Re: Moser Differential Cover / Porterbuilt Stage 2
I was thinking about getting one of those Moser 7111 covers.
Will the factory straight bar work with the Moser 7111 cover if the truck is stock height or is the bent panhard bar needed even if the truck has not been lowered? What is involved in the installation? Just unbolt the old one and bolt on the new one? |

Re: Moser Differential Cover / Porterbuilt Stage 2
It’s a straight forward, albeit messy, swap out. I don’t think it would work with a stock panhard bar at all. It’s mighty “bulbous”.

Is the installation of the panhard bar just a matter of unbolting the old factory bar and bolting on the new bent bar in the same place or is there more to it then that? |
