I finally got the measurements you guys wanted.
Plus I changed a couple things today.

Got the top down on the ground and laid a tape on the main beam span. It's 59.5".

Here's the boy helpin out.

Then took a measurement from the front of the main beam to the lifting point.
That is 28".

Then I replaced the 1/4" bolts with some proper locking pin's to secure the arms with.

Then to be REAL sure the top stays secured I attached a ratchet strap at each corner of the main beam and wrapped them around the rafters in the ceiling of the carport.

About $50 in new steel.
$70.00 for the winch (already had it though)
< $10.00 for the 4 locking pin's.
Total price...PRICELESS...Saves my back and is much safer for a one-man operation.

Approx. $130.00
Could have gone with scrap steel to save money but didn't.

1.5" square tube, .125 (1/8") wall. round bar is 3/4"

What was the length of the 2 bars going across the top.

2" wider than the widest part of the top on each side. Measured from bottom edge to bottom edge. I think is was 6'.
So whatever the widest measurement is +4".

Man that looks awesome.I need to make one now ,Having three girls nobody to help lift the top off.The one thing i see is would it have made sense???to have had a return up on the feet so it doesent slip out maybe two inch return. Then you coould just slide it from the back /and down from window area?????Just throwing it out there.

The top is bolted to the feet of the arms using the factory holes in the bed rails of the top.

Having a lip on the foot would interfere when you slid the foot under the top. Unless of course you just raised the top up enough to clear whatever sized lip you have made.

The 3/4" arms are are more than strong enough to hold the top up without the weight of the top splaying out the arms.
Basically it's like having the top on the ground.

I'm not sure what color to paint the lift.
Black... or white like the top.

I used the 1st and last mounting holes in the rail of the top.
So the arms of the frame are right in line with those holes when the top is suspended in the "I" frame.
28" from the front of the "I" frame back to the eye bolt.

Your measurements may vary +/- 1" as it seems there are slight differences between the single and double walled tops.

I still have the top on my blazer but I will update the post this summer with an actual COG measurement on the Blazer top itself.

The front arms are in line with the 1st holes in the rail of the top.
So the COG would be approx. 28" back from those 1st holes.
