63 cab on 83 frame

Hi i am new to customizing truck so bear with what may seem to be straight forward simple questions. I just bought a 63 3\4 ton GMC longbox stepside. My question is that i have also found a 83 chevy 1\2 ton 350 4 speed auto trans. How tough would it be to mount just the cab on this frame? Could I use the same steering column? This route i think would save a lot of modification to give me ps, pb, ect. What would you "pros" suggest? Thanks for your time. I will probably sell the 63's box, its in good shape i just want to go in a different direction with th e back end.

Yes, anything is do-able.
I mounted a ''57 Big Window cab on a '77 1 ton dually and I used everything I could off the donor truck.
