Re: how often do rear coil springs go bad?

These came out of my 62. Friend put them in his panel, gave a 2" drop because of weight but a good overall ride.
He could'couldn't find right coils... Chevelle or droped ones that held the panel at right height.
I ran Pro Comp 3000 shocks 5/8" shaft, also stickered as Toxic

Re: how often do rear coil springs go bad?

Well I would wait on doing much till you get the front sway bar in. That in it self makes a night and day change in the way they feel in a corner. These trucks also have a high roll center that is driven by the short high mounted track bar and a high center of gravity. The long bar like the Early classics super track bar that mount to the trailing arm improve it and make an improvement in the cornering. The pictures of the springs look fine. On a worn out set the center set will sit right down on each other. There are many things you can do to make it handle better and it just depends on what you want it to be in the future.
