A lot of the tank extends past the end of the short seat! Thanks for the additional picture...it really helps understand what was going on there...I rotated these two for you!

The seat does not sit off to the drivers side. It sits in the middle over the tank. Just take off the front tubular brackets and the tank bolts right up to the seat.
