Re: Custom mail boxes
Back when I was a kid ya in the stone age ,someone kept taking out our mailbox. Happened a couple times a month my dad sank a ibeam with a crapload of cement then boxed it the beam with wood . Sure enough when we were away someone tried to customize it . Wood was shattered and the post slightly tilted . Followed the antifreeze/transfluid trail it stopped at the garage door of a family down the street . Seems the kid was upset that my dad complained about the kid speeding up the dead end . Well he didnt speed anymore on his bycicle.

Re: Custom mail boxes
This is an old picture, back in the late 1990s I owned this '57 Chevy 4 door station wagon (got tired if hearing "nice Nomad"). Made the post from left over lumber from building my house. Painted with left over paint from the car repaint. Trim is aluminum tape.
The wood rotted, made a new post from salvaged aluminum c-channel, but still have the mailbox.
