Door closing problem

I'm trying to adjust the closing of my doors on my 53 3100. They are in the correct positions, as per the gaps all around, close and latch. But when latched, you can still pull the door out about 1/2 inch (although it stays latched). Striker plates and latches are new, and are adjusted inward and downward so that the door will latch and stay latched. I checked out Youtube, no help. Any advice or tips?

Re: Door closing problem

Your doors are catching on the first click but not the second. Bring your striker plates out a bit until BOTH detents are secure.

Re: Door closing problem

What MiraclePieCo said. If your doors are closing all the way there may be a lot of wear. I had trouble on my 49 with the second latch not catching all the time. I bought these clips and it solved the problem.

Re: Door closing problem

You should be able to loosen up the bolts that bolt the hinges to the door and slide it forward enough to split the difference. You gaps and fit are as good or better than 70% of them out thee now though. I'm gong to say that there a few guys on here that would dance in the street if their doors fit that good after adjusting them.
