I've been watching VGG for a good while and just watched that episode. He always delivers great stuff. Recently moved to Tennessee as well.

Re: 69 long bed, Never say die ! Vise grip garage
The one time I tried to watch it I was aggravated because he spent more time telling what he was going to do that he did doing anything.

I saw that video along with some of his others and he's pretty entertaining as well as talented.
"Spark-ka-lator." Can't believe he actually got that engine to brake loose. Hope he does sell it to a beginning young future enthusiast. |

Re: 69 long bed, Never say die ! Vise grip garage
I just barely started watching a couple of episodes and he is entertaining. He did a scuff and shoot on a square body in white for his brother. He did a good job on that explaining it was not going to look great but I thought it looked pretty good. I also watched him work on a 1st gen Firebird and drive it home. He had no working wipers and no working heater and he drove it home in winter, braver man then me.
I also like to use his torqueing method for bolts...........I like to give lug nuts about two unga dungas. The unga dunga method has not failed me yet

One of the reasons I don’t watch many of his videos. They are also usually a lot longer than I like, prefer something 20 minutes or less usually.

Re: 69 long bed, Never say die ! Vise grip garage
He did call that a K/20 but it's actually a K2500. To a truck guy that's like calling a Firebird a Camaro

Re: 69 long bed, Never say die ! Vise grip garage
He may not be everybody's cup of tea but I have been watching him for a long time, think I subscribed to his channel a few years ago now.
I like him because he is rescuing all flavors of items from sheds, barns, fields and tree rows. He is motivating others by showing everything doesn't have to be a full $50,000-$100,000 restoration to be enjoyed and shows some valuable methods and tips to get those rigs up and going. If you watch enough of his videos you realize he's got the whole family involved and his boys are out wrenching on their stuff and riding dirt bikes and go karts. Way better than being stuck to their phones or computers. Also, he seems to be a really genuinely nice guy. One of his videos was him picking up a non-running snow blower from a single mom that was giving it away. He got it running and took it back to her. Also, he recently won $1,000 in a burn out competition and donated the entire check to St. Jude. Lastly, his dry humor does entertain me. It might seem foolish to others but it makes me chuckle.

I also like VGG. I'll agree that his videos tend to run a little on the long side. But they're still entertaining. He's a funny guy. I'm glad he's doing well.

So as a subscriber do you see a lot of advertisements with the videos?

He's done good for himself, found the niche and rolled with it. I just wish every youtuber would stop with the "will it run?" in the titles. That has jumped the shark a long time ago.

I subscribe to his channel and not you tube. So, yes I get the ads. I just ignore them and skip when possible.

Re: 69 long bed, Never say die ! Vise grip garage
That video is my personal favorite due the education. Asweetens the pot. He validated with visual what Grumpy once told me about water in engine blocks.
He's done better comedy, sometimes it's just better to not try so hard In the 80s I had a friend & employee for shop mechanic. In a lot of ways the same mold, big guy and hairy the same, they could be brothers. He wasn't a good mechanic & was maybe half as funny. He wired my turn signal to the horn for instance, just for "fun". Not fun at all, he's why I'm replacing all the wire harnesses
