I've installed dozens in customer's trucks. Mostly Furds.
They will lower the rear of the truck 1/2" to 1" because they are a little longer. The rear will also feel a little wiggly with loads in the bed. Yes they work. The expansion cracks on a concrete freeway will dissapear. You can get them at NAPA too. The fit on your older truck should not be a Problem if you have leaf spring in the rear.
