Who filled out a Survey of how much gas is spilled. Not Me. How do (They) Figures like that get calculated. I think it is Fuzzy Math. Yet the Ozone is still having holes poked in it trying to see what is on the Moon and beyond.

Re: More on EVs from a guy trying to sell them
Funny how the gov't is complaining about spilled fuel when they were the ones that mandated these stupid gas cans that are as useless as a wristwatch on a pig.

"No auto manufacturer is making money on EVs without government subsidies or manipulations. GM is all in on EVs even though they lose thousands on each one. The whole auto industry is in for a shock when they finally wake up to the EV debacle. Somehow I feel another taxpayer bailout coming." Have to add that yesterday I spoke with a sales guy at an Infiniti dealership. My wife's SUV lease is almost up, and he is trying to lease us another one. Anyway, he said he is very concerned about this being the last year of production for their only remaining sedan (Q50), and also announcing that they plan to be all-in on EVs going forward. Again, a comment from a real person who's been selling cars to repeat customers at the same dealership for more than 10 years. So a guy who actually knows what customers want! Have to wonder if Nissan/Infiniti upper management ever even speak to their people who deal face-to-face with customers.

Re: More on EVs from a guy trying to sell them
This is a most interesting thread to read thru. I also use the older out dated but still working gas cans and a funnel as needed. Have four 2 1/2 gal, one gal and half and a one gal, all are Gott mfg. See no reason to replace older but PROVEN technology.
It is just so sad that EVs are being pushed as the "climate savior" with out the back story being told of the mining of such material and with ICE equipment, the lack of adequate national electric grid, battery replacement costs and disposal of such, etc. etc. etc. Very little is EVER mentioned on these issues and more. If we are ALL to one day be driving an EV I have yet to see in the news that GM is currently building EV Suburbans for federal use and the replacement of all those nasty ICE Burbs used by the Washington elites. Guess had best check if DeanheadNM aka Dale has room in his corner for another, LOL. Dale.......?

Again. I have zero sympathy for Mary and the rest of the idiots running GM and Ford, even Stalantis for that matter, dodge stepped in it big time killing off the best selling in its class Challenger and even the charger… no body is gonna buy there EV pony car just like no one is going to buy an EV reimagined Camaro. I’m happy to see that my beliefs are clearly inline with a lot of the general public in that EV’s aren’t the save all to humanity that the White House and the big 3 (among others) are trying to push them to be.

Re: More on EVs from a guy trying to sell them
More useless two cents; Canadian; I'll take my rumbling gasoline v8 thank you very much. (F that 2035 no new ICE vehicles regulation they forced upon us). Heck, I won't even own a v6 because not enough rumble.
If forced to change, I'd willing go hybrid vehicle, but never full ev. I'm a guy who puts down the miles, I don't stop except to fuel up and take a fast bathroom stop. I know I would never tolerate having to wait for a vehicle to charge up. Theres time to smell the roses when I get to my destination. |

The U.S. government spent $49.5 billion to bail out GM, and after the company’s bankruptcy in 2009, the government’s investment was converted to a 61 percent equity stake in the company. The Treasury gradually sold off its stock in GM, selling its last shares in December 2013.

Re: More on EVs from a guy trying to sell them
Good to know. I didn’t realize that either.
Somehow they are still going head first into EV’s seemingly counter to financial reasons. I have my suspicions why, but it would definitely get political….

Everyone forgets that once the dealers only sell electric, the public will buy. Disposable cars need to be replaced eventually and they will buy what they can get.

I don’t think anyone forgot this. This is the exact problem everyone has with the mandates.

I hope EVs remain an option, and not a mandate. It will be interesting to see what happens to manufacturers who actually go "all in".
