Re: Marvin (1953 3100)
Yep, that’s correct - we did not install the springs. The hinges are stiff enough that the doors don’t flop open - they just stay in whatever position you put them in, so that’s nice.
I tell ya though, I do miss the springs for one reason. My kids will never know the fear of pushing that glovebox button and having that steel door fly open and crack them in the knees bwahahahahaha.

Who made the interior door panels?
Thanks.

Re: Marvin (1953 3100)
Those were made from the upholstery shop that did the whole interior - Premier Upholstery in Rogers, Minnesota. Premier does excellent work!! They are the same dimensions as the stock cardboard-style pieces, but they've been covered in leather with the stitching that you see as well as the two pieces of stainless rod trim. The material under the leather is a particle board of some kind, and there's a small bit of padding material between the particle board and the leather.

Re: Marvin (1953 3100)
Hey gang, haven't been by the site here in awhile. Fall colors have started to show here, so I had Marvin out this weekend for a wash and then a drive down to the lake. A few years (and a decent amount of miles) since the rebuild now, but Marvin is still driving great and is a joy to cruise around in with the family.

I remember reading through your build and admiring the workmanship. It all paid off. The truck is beautiful.

Re: Marvin (1953 3100)
14 pages of this build, and i enjoyed every one. Bought my 48 roller on 12/31/23 and cant wait to get into it. Abandoned build that comes with a powder coated stock frame, 10 bolt 3:23 posi leaf rear and Mustang II IFS. got a wait to go.
