Post Factory Mirrors???

i know there were a few different kinds of mirrors available. There were the sport mirrors, and some kind of towing mirrors. The set of mirrors i have a question about were on a 72 blazer. They are a tripod design, with the top bar attaching right below the vent window on the top edge of the door, the other two mounting points where down the door about 6 inches. They are just bolted to the door. They seem to be factory quality. I looked and couldn't find any fill holes from sport mirrors ever having been on the truck. The heads are gone so i was just wondering if anybody know anything. I would love to find a set of heads for these. thanks

John, those sound like factory "below eyeline mirrors" It shouldn't be to hard to get heads for them. Good luck, Joe

Heads are easy, it's the mounts that you can't get. At least the real ones. Those were also known as the California Mirror

You say the bottom mounts are about 6 inches. Those would be aftermarkets. The factory arms mount about 8 or 9 inches down. Is the upper arm round or flat. The round one is factory
