Re: My Pro Street '56 GMC Pick'em Up

Want the truck to have a lower stance. Removing the Mono leafs and doing a mokc-up with the new flip kit and Posies Super Slide multi-leaf springs from NoLimit Engineering. C-notch is coming as well. Some of the pictures might make somebody think what the heck is going on, it will make sense when I throw up the final shots in about a year and a half

BC, just went through your build. Thats one cool truck you got. I was noticing all the welding and bodywork you have done, and are still doing. I guess I should not complain about the welding I need to do, its no comparision to what you guys have to do. Shutting up now. LOL!

Yeah man after going to Brothers Truck Show it made me stop complaining too, I'm just gonna keep my mouth shut and do the work. I am about to do some major surgery for the C-notch and frame work and some major work to the bed sides. As I said before some of the pictures I am putting up will make people think , What in the world is this clown doing. HEHEHE, It will all make sense when I'm done, Lord willing I live long enough to complete it. Doing a mokc-up fittment taking back apart, the c-notch is going to be more involved then I planned for but I am making progress even though I am going at sanils pace. Trying to get that lower stance.

Re: My Pro Street '56 GMC Pick'em Up

When at Brothers truck show I saw these two AWESOMELY WICKED pro street rydes. AWESOMELY......Yeah I know it aint correct grammer who cares. The yello truck seems t have had an 8 point cage, an it is estimated by the friend of the owner it is a 10 second truck only has seen the 1/8 mile track thus far.

Also what I think was kool if you look at the bottom photo you will see the rear shackles have been replaced by a slider for smoother operation on hard acceleration. and it even helps in dropping the truck down low.

Re: My Pro Street '56 GMC Pick'em Up

'55-'59 GMC DASH / INSTRUMENT PANEL INSERTS.
I hope this helps. Sometimes being a GMC owner you feel like the red headed step child. You always seem to run across an item Chevy truck suppliers can't help you with, like GMC emblems, Horn buttons grills, hoods, tail gates, bumper breast/nipples, hub caps, complete dash board, radiator support frame, brackets, and what-nots. I didn't like my GMC dash/gauge panel coz when I took it to the chrome shop years ago they never straightened it out. I looked all over the net and couldn't find the original ones. There are new billet ones out there but they are one piece. Fortunately I went to this guy that has done chrome work for me in the pass and he had a guy that fixed mine and my chrome guy rechromed and it looks brand spanking new. If you want to check out the one piece go here. If you have an old one that is beyond help maybe you can use it as a template and have a machine shop plasma cut a new one or water jet or laser/ whatever.

Boese Engineering
http://stores.ebay.com/Boese-Enginee...=p4634.c0.m322

The first picture is how my insert looked and the pictures after that is how it looks now. I will post the pictures of some dash inserts I saw at Brothers Truck Show.

AND ....here are some GMC Dash and instruments at Brothers Truck Show. Note one of the trucks has a one piece dash panel insert.

Re: My Pro Street '56 GMC Pick'em Up

Very nice, you'd think by now the GMC stuff would be of interest to the suppliers, they've had the Chevy stuff for a long time. Some of the of brand auto parts are getting attention, Caddillac, Buick, etc. The trucks would be easier, less change.

Anyways, like the new dash good find.

I 'm sure the suppliers have some kind of lame excuse. I don't think things will change. Sometimes you just have to live on E-bay till you come across the part or buy a part you all ready have just to have an extra coz you may never see that item again any where,

Thanks Kim I think so too. When I saw the aftermarket dash inserts I thought, "close but no cigar" It is so hard to find the two piece dash inserts. I'm just glad they were salvageable & look new.
