Re: Pictures of your Motorcycle

DT1, did you order most of your resto parts online? Getting stuff here is what I believe will run my cost up. From what I see, shipping cost more than the parts in most cases

Without the internet, I honestly believe it would have been next to impossible to restore any of them.
That said, I have spent more cash on almost every bike than it's worth. In my case, the money plays second fiddle next to the desire to restore the machine properly.
It you're looking to get the bike in acceptable shape without laying out big $$$, the best bet is to locate a couple of donar bikes and massage the usable parts back to life.
Things like rubber and original graphics/decals are also a large cost factor. For example, I paid $100. just for the original stickers on the fuel tank for the CT90.

Re: Pictures of your Motorcycle

Well it doesnt have to be perfect, as I do plan to ride it on the farm and enjoy it. That said, If I do it, it also has to be done right. Donor bikes would be right up my alley. Unfortunately I would just wind up with me looking at parts to fix the parts bikes eventually lol. Id get the one Im working on finished up, and then end up saying "well.... Ive got that frame over there..."

Re: Pictures of your Motorcycle

Here's mine. The red one is a 68, got it for free. The engine was torn apart to find a broken gear and some of the parts got too corroded. I have another engine for it. I'm hoping to hang it off the front of my 67 Burb when we go to shows. The yellow one is a 70, picked it up for $40, and then went thru the nightmare of getting a title for it. Supposedly it ran, but now who knows. I think I have enough parts, I just need some time to tinker with them.

Sold this one last year to pay bills It's a 73 Honda 350 with a 360 twin engine in it. Got it running...kinda but then I had to sell.

Re: Pictures of your Motorcycle

I've had several, but have no running bikes right now. This one was probably my favorite:

Lots more pictures and the story behind it here:

http://www.tmcarphoto.com/warrior/

It was a magazine feature bike, built up when the Warrior was first introduced in 2002. It had just about everything done to it you could do, short of making it a full-on drag bike. Some of the parts on it were prototypes for parts that were later sold at retail.

Re: Pictures of your Motorcycle

I and a few others went on a ride last night. This is video of before it got dark. We did 95 miles of dirt road, with most of it by our headlights.

I recently bought a cool vest, and love the thing. It's a vest that you soak in water that cools you by evaporation. With the low humidity here they're very effective. It keeps your torso really cool, and lasts for about three hours. I've used it riding my bicycle, and in my sandbuggy too. I can't believe I've lived in this desert for so long without one of these.

Hey that's the shore of San Diego, right? The resturaunt in the end is above the fish shack or something, right? Was there in May. Loved strolling through old town. Nice bikes, I am a simple bike guy, like the triumph bobber in there. Nice show, thanks for sharing.
