This truck Won the "Best Original" at the "Southeastern Truck Nationals" Saturday

Thanks everyone! Really enjoyed the show! That was the first time the truck was out in public, and I think folks really enjoyed it.

Re: "All Out Original 72"

Finally took a few more photo's. The truck has now made it to three shows. Went to Wilson County Fair car show in Tn. yesterday, it won it's class, and was the first pick-up to ever win "Best of Show" at that event! There were 125 entries. That is the third "Best of Show" win so far in three shows! I am truly amazed that a long bed p/u is winning over some of the nicest cars/trucks you've ever seen!!! Really odd....

Re: "All Out Original 72"

not odd at all to me considering all the time and detail you put into it. I always am surprised at vehicles I see winning shows that aren't the nicest one there....just a nice "safe" pick. I doubt there are many other 100 pt resto's at these shows as there aren't many around period. Congrats on the well deserved honors!

Agreed! I did score a 98 at the GTOAA Nationals in St. Louis in 94, with the GTO I mentioned in an earlier post. They got me for a clip on the wiring harness I had nothing to do with, was done at the factory that way. It still took "Original Unrestored Concours" 1st place!

Re: "All Out Original 72"

I just found this thread. My jaw is a bit numb from hitting the floor over and over.

Did you ever find a nice heat riser? If not, PM me. The metal on those heat risers is thin at best. It is a wonder that any survived.

Re: "All Out Original 72"

On another sad, sad note.... a fellow truck guy, and a dear life long friend of mine, past away last Thursday of a heart attack. He had finished a 46 Chevy p/u last fall, that was his father's farm truck, and had been in an old shed most of his life. The truck has been shown a few times with winning results! He had already made all the arrangements to carry it to the "Rod Run" at Piegon Forge this fall. He will be greatly missed by many in this community!!!!! RIP my friend!

Sorry about your friend. My condolences to you and his family and friends. He obviously knew how to build a truck, that thing is sweet!

The 46 is a work of art! Pictures never do a vehicle justice....good or bad. This thing is really something to see, and it's a driver as well!
