This bracket is fabricated from laser cut 10ga mild steel and fits 1967-'72 Chevy and GMC Pickups, Suburbans and panels and is 100% bolt on using holes already in your firewall. The booster side of the bracket has a 3 3/8" x 3 1/2" hole pattern. Boosters with this pattern are commonly found on S10's and full size pickups, Suburbans, Blazers and Tahoes from 1988 to at least 1998. Of course you will have to join the booster pushrod to your stock MC pushrod that attaches to your brake pedal. This can be done by either threading both ends and using a coupling nut, or by just welding them together once you determine the correct length.

I have had the original version ('63-'66) of this bracket on my '66 Suburban and have driven over 120,000 miles with no issues. I have also installed these on a couple of local pickups with good results as well. If you are wanting to add hydroboost to your pickup, Suburban or Panel I also offer a mounting plate for the hydroboost HERE

The price on the bare steel brackets is $55.00 plus a flat $13.60 shipping in the US. If you are located elsewhere contact me for shipping charges. You can also get this bracket in a satin black powder coat for an additional $9.00. Mounting hardware is included. To place an order and for payment information either send me a PM here on the forum or email me at captainfab454@hotmail dot com
Captinfab, I need a bracket for a 72 C10...please send payment info

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

No you do not HAVE TO use a '88-'98 booster. There are many, many, many compatible boosters most of which are listed in post #218 of this for sale thread. An even more expanded list of compatible boosters is included with every booster bracket.

If you are staying with a drum/drum braking system, then I would use the '68 booster and master. If you are upgrading to a disc/drum braking system, I would choose a different booster and master. Also you do not have to use the master that originally came on a given booster. You just need to use one that is compatible with both your braking system and the booster. The early boosters such as your '68 booster, have the long intermediate pushrod for a master with a deep bore master piston. The later model boosters use a short intermediate pushrod for the shallow bore master pistons. That is basically just a dimple in the back of the piston.

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

Finally got to a computer only to notice that this won't fit column shift applications. I was wondering how the Lokar linkage would fit.

Thank you for the help though.

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

This bracket will work with a column shift if you use a booster smaller than 10".

I'll get back to finish reading the rest of this thread, but I'm looking to add Booster/Master to my 1960 Suburban and I have a 3 speed column shift. It looks like GoNuts accomplished the conversion with an 8" aftermarket booster.

Any info on what would be the rest of the mods? How does it connect to brake pedal and any mods necessary on the steering column? And of course what year, brand, etc do I look for? I'm guessing I'll need a two or three bladder unit for 8".

Once I get that figured out, I'll get my order placed, what's the total on the brackets and what's the shipping time to Kansas?

Thanks!!!

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

'67-'72 booster bracket is not going to work on your '60 Suburban. You are going to need the '60-'62 booster bracket with the hydraulic clutch in this thread.

http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...d.php?t=362375

In addition to those boosters listed in post #1 of each for sale thread, there is a listing elsewhere referenced in post #1, of compatible boosters. Also an expanded list comes with every booster bracket.

There are 3 ways to extend the booster pushrod using the original pushrod to reach the pedal. You can cut and weld, cut and thread and use a coupling nut, or cut and use a sleeve and pin method.

I didn't catch that this was a 67-72 booster bracket. So, on 60 bracket I can have column shift? Guess I need to go reread again.....

That thread is linking the bracket with clutch booster. I have an automatic. I searched for a thread with the booster for the 60 with auto and had no luck. I'm sure there is one out there if you have that link. Never the less if you have those and they'll work I'm interested in getting one shipped to kansas depending on how quickly I'd get it. I'm hoping to pull motor today and want to start cleaning up and prepping the engine bay and redoing the brakes while she's out.

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

Your first post said that you have a 3 speed column shift. That typically means a manual trans. There are links to half of my for sale threads in my sig line. All you have to do is click on where it says HERE in blue after the item you wish to see. Here is the for sale thread for the '60-'62 booster bracket for use with an auto trans.

http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...49#post3479149

How quick you will get one depends on when and how you make the payment.

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

Because I'm impulsive, I'll just paste it here. Needing a 67-72 brake booster bracket for my 71 Blazer. I have a new 8 or 9 inch 63-66 style brake booster. I was totally screwed over when I bought this booster. Guy way over charged me and the box didn't have half the materials he said it did. It's also a floor shift. Just looking at the raw metal bracket. What would be the cost to send to 29414? And also timeframe? I have PayPal and Venmo. Thank you

No I do not have these sitting on a shelf waiting to ship. I have no time to build inventory. 95% of all orders are built as they are ordered and shipped. Right now I could build and ship your order on Wednesday providing the payment is received. I will send you a PM with ordering and payment info.

The diameter of the compatable boosters varies by application. I do not have a listing of those measurements.

The distance the booster is from the firewall has absolutely no bearing on the leverage applied by the brake pedal
I was just reading through some of this thread. I bought one of the brackets a while ago, I'm just looking at whether or not I wanna use a vacuum booster, or switch over to hydro boost. If I'm reading the above quote correctly, the dual vacuum booster for the S10 trucks was optional, not every booster on those trucks was dual? Thanks.

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

That is correct. Not all S10's came with dual diaphram boosters. The same with any other application. Depending on how long ago you purchased the bracket, the current list of compatible boosters has part numbers for some of the dual diaphram boosters.
