Re: 68 Four door build

Here are a few more.

The picture with the fender is with the two front cab mounts lined up with two holes that were in the 2011 frame all ready and the tire looks pretty good in the wheel well.

Re: 68 Four door build

Does any one know of any body doing a right hand drive yet?
I have all ways wanted to and this thing has a rack on it that I could flip around and every thing else would be simple.

Just a thought .

mmmmmmmmm.......................
What do you guys think?

Re: 68 Four door build

I started out the day cleaning up my mess I left last night in my shop.

Then I moved on to cutting and triming the rear body mount brace out of the 2011 silverado rear panel to install in the 68 floor.

There was three resons for putting this in, the first one is the mounting of the rear of the cab to the new frame, the second is I plan on puting the rear seat out of the 2011 silverado and all the mounting point are built into that brace, the third is that it has a nice contour to clear that big cross member in the frame.

Re: 68 Four door build

The next problem I ran into was that the floor was resting on top of the gas tank and we cant have that so it was time to clearance the floor to clear the tank, so I cut some more.

Re: 68 Four door build "mad max"

The next thing I delt with was the piece I cut out of the pass. rear door jamb. I always see guys building a door jamb to match the right side with all the right contours when I started looking at the piece I cut out I noticed that if I take it over to the drivers side and turn it around I can trim it up and use it for that jamb and match the other side.

Re: 68 Four door build

That's a lot for 1 day. Looks good. With the position of the rear seat mounts will the seat be higher than normal? I'm not familiar with how they mount.

Cool idea with the suicide rear doors and using the other trucks hinges.
