If mine works out just fine, I'm going to find a couple more 700's and maybe a few 350 & 400's off craigslist, rebuild them, and sale them for some extra cash. But I've got to test mine for a good 6 months or so first. I'm assuming you're going with the 4L60E? Is it not running? Or are you just wanting to freshin it up plus some upgrades? EDIT - I just found in your build thread, you mentioned you picked up a 4L60E off craiglist.

Looks great Daniel, I knew you could do a trans with your brains. They are intimidating at first but once you get the manuals and do your research it is not that difficult for people like you with advanced machine/mechanical skill. Did someone say brownies?? I'm hungry!

Re: Project "Captain Insano"
I took a short break but ready to get back on it. I got the transmission finished up. Sadly, I won't know if it actually works until the truck is all finished up and ready to drive. We'll see.
I've got some engine parts gathered up. Heads, oil pump, timing chain, fuel pump, oil pan and maybe some small things i'm forgetting. Cam/lifters, rods, rockers, intake, and carb is about it for the engine. I'm going to wait for now on the FastEz efi and go with a carb to get up and running. I may upgrade later on. The pan is from summit racing, SUM-PANKIT7 I went with Dart alum. heads. 200cc int/75cc ex 2.02"int/1.6"ex valves 1.437"dual springs, 72cc chambers. They come with 3/8" rocker studs and guide plates, I just haven't mounted them yet. The heads are from summit also, I believe it's a pretty decent deal. They're also giving $100 summit bucks.

Re: Project "Captain Insano"
I'm going to assemble the rest of the engine tomorrow morning and hopefully get the transmission mounted up and set on the chassis this weekend.
I upgraded to 7/16" ARP Rocker Studs. Harland Sharp 1.5 Roller Rockers, Trick Flow 7" Chromoly Pushrods, Cometic 4.060" gasket bore .040" comp thickness, Summit Billet Ready-to-Run HEI distributor, MSD Blaster coil.

Re: Project "Captain Insano"
Fuel system, Hughes 2500 Stall w/lockup, Edelbrock Performer RPM that Dan (67c10rustbuket hooked me up with) It wasn't my intention to paint my intake but I took it to an anodize shop just to have them degrease it inside/out. Well, it got a whole lot cleaner than I expected. Pulled all the impurities out, it would get nasty to the touch.
The last one is of the No Limit Rear Shock Locators.

Re: Project "Captain Insano"
Hey Dan. Sorry I wasn't able to meet with ya'll today. I woke up a little late and I needed most of the day to work on my engine. The assembling is going smoothly. I need to adjust the rockers, install the intake, and balancer. Autozone or oriellys didn't have a balancer install tool that I need so I'm going to have to shop around for one.

Re: Project "Captain Insano"
Thanks a lot! I appreciate it. I have more photos to post up on my progress. I'm just waiting for the site staff to get the photo sizing issue fixed. Atleast I hope they're working on putting it back to the way it was. It was pretty simple.
I got the engine/trans mounted on the frame and 85% of body work completed on the cab. Once I get the cab finished up, primed, and wet sanded, I'll be ready to set it on the frame. I'm just thinking of what game plan I come up with on how I want to paint. Once I get the cab on the frame and free up some room, I'll do all body work on the doors, fenders, hood, bedsides, & tailgate. Then paint the cab interior, bedside, fender, hood insides first, then the rest of the outer body parts while it's apart. I can't wait to post up some pics of the gauges I got. I went with the AutoMeter Antique Beige series. They look awesome in the instrument panel. 5" Speedo, 5" Tach, 3 3/8" dual Water Temp/Volt (for the center hole), 2 1/16" Fuel, 2 1/16" Oil, & 2 1/16" Clock. I need to call AutoMeter and see if they will make me a Trans Temp gauge to fill up the last small hole.

Re: Project "Captain Insano"
I've been a little discouraged on doing any updates ever since uploading photos became difficult, but I'm making some exciting progress though.
I finally fired up my engine last Sunday. I went with the Holley 670 Street Avenger vacuum sec., elec choke. This engine is going to be fun! It bust's off every time with one turn of the key, and I haven't even set the timing yet. I don't have mufflers yet, so I can't let it run for long right now. Dan (67rustbuket) let me borrow his mufflers so tomorrow I'll get a chance to run it for some time. The quick short times I've run it, everything so far is running great. Balancing is great, quiet rockers, no drips or leaks, no crazy smoking. Runs like a brand new engine. I couldn't believe it. lol Gauges are working good to, tach, oil press, water temp, & volt. Speedometer operation pending. I also got the cab interior painted, 65% wiring done, 90% brake system done. I'm back on body work now. Just need to finish up the doors, bed sides, and fenders, paint, get wheels & tires, rebuild steering column, and tidy up odds & ends. I keep saying I should be on the road in about 2 more months, but these weeks just keep flying by and I still have a ton of work to do. So hopefully by Jan. I'll definitely be hitting up the car shows come spring time.

Re: Project "Captain Insano"
I switched to photo bucket, larger clearer pics and easier than uploading here. Just make sure you organize pics in folders and don't move them around or the image links wont work.

Re: Project "Captain Insano"
I think I've decided on Intro Twisted Vista's for wheels. Unless I find a good deal on some Intro Pentia's. I was deciding between to two. I see that screaminchevy has some Retro's for sale for a nice price, but I figured if I was going to spend that much, I might as well get the Twisted Vista's.
