Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

weekend updates first thing , since i am to tight to buy the exo mount system i wanted to do something to make my compressors quite like they are with the vibration isolators used on the EXO system, so i came up with my own vibration isolation pad ! hopefully it keeps the noise down alot

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

next i worked on raising my rear bag mounts 1 inch and added a little extra bracing, i also had to notch the crossmember right above the drive shaft , and now the watts link cradle is bottoming out on the bridge cross brace, the rear of the frame is still about 1/4 inch up off of the floor but i guess i will just have a small amount of rake !

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

then i cut down my breather space about 1 1/4 and worked on the welding a little on the bottom breather plate (it was a 2 barrel carb breather) i cut up a 4 barrel one and welded it to the bottom. Oh and tried to find any space left under my bed for the train horns ??? might not be enough room left for them !

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

What if you welded some studs under the bed floor and hang the horn upside down, pretty much in the same area you have them sitting now.

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

i dont know if theres the same type of raise in the floor under the seat as in the newer 1977 trucks but maibe you could mount them side by side under the cab or vertical somewhere under the hood like in front between the radiator and grille ...... now that would make them loud

Honestly I do not understand putting alot of work into a vehicle that has a rusty patina. That is just my opinion. Not that I dont think its cool it just seems like a waste of resources and vehicle value. But we all strive to have our own creative voices stand out amongst the hundreds (thousands) out there.

I've got some Jeg's stickers you could put over those holes in your doors. Would that help?

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

Nice progress! Those mounts should def. help on the comp's...

No space between the rad support and grille for the train horns? That's where I was going to try to tuck mine (pointed down at a slight angle)
