Re: $3,000 driver build

I must have my notches higher, mine touches before my axle. I also have smaller blocks ?I think but it is a short bed if that matters. Thanks

Re: $3,000 driver build

I have 2" blocks, so if you have less that would explain it.

Re: $3,000 driver build

Did you have to drill the lower shock mount or could you have used the original bolts? Just wondering because the shocks don't come with those mounts.

I love this truck. It makes me want to just out in Target's parking lot and do donuts!

The particular shocks I used did not have the same size eye as the stock ones, they were bigger, so no I couldn't use the original bolts. Obviously if the eyes were the same size I could have.

Re: $3,000 driver build

Time to dismantle the truck. Here's where it's gonna happen:

Gonna blow it apart, clean, fix, paint, you name it. Stay tuned.

Re: $3,000 driver build

Yes sir.

I'm wondering where the best place to get rockers and cab corner replacements is?

How bout paintable bumpers? All I'm finding is chrome.

Re: $3,000 driver build

For the bumpers, try Classic Parts of America. http://www.classicparts.com/Bumpers/products/324/ They have painted bumpers. I can't speak for quality, but they have them. I'm sure if you check other places that typically sell these, they should have them. You might also check with Nsanehotrodz here on the forum http://www.nsanehotrodz.com/ He sells quality stuff, from what I hear. And he'll stand behind the parts.

Re: $3,000 driver build

Tabco makes the highest quality best fitting body panels and patches on the market.
Make sure you specify "no foreign made parts" when you order.

Re: $3,000 driver build

I will have to disagree with Brian. The parts I got as "made in USA" from Tabco where terrible.

I got parts from here:
http://www.topbananaparts.com/vaf/pr...l=241&trim=243

They have a kit for the cab with the most common parts:
http://www.topbananaparts.com/cab-repair-kit.html

They also have the primed bumpers:
http://www.topbananaparts.com/primed...-bumper-4.html

Top Banana is the retail outlet for Key Parts. They also have Trim Parts and Goodmark brands.
