Re: Starting a 52 Chevy 3100 Project.

I was never really happy with the gas pedal placement and where the brake ended up being. I fixed these both this past week. I added 3" to the brake pedal and I used a 2001 S10 gas pedal and added some material and put it where I want it with a torch. It works 100 times better. I am going to finish installing all the ac vents and replace the compressor then ship it off to have the A/C finished.

Definitely a project of a different caliber. Next item on the list is my cruise control.

Who made the cruise control? I got mine from Dakota Digital, it's installed, and I can't wait to try it.

Rostra is the brand on the box. Same as the one that Dakota Digital sells. I bought mine at the thecruisecontrolstore.com

Re: Starting a 52 Chevy 3100 Project.

Ran into issues with the AC. Not really cooling all that great. I ended up putting a pusher fan on which seems to have helped. I may take it to a different shop as the first place I took it to doesn't really seem to know what they are doing. I have taken it back about 5-6 times now. I think its possible that it has a bad high pressure switch. I have lost faith in having this shop work on it. Its not that I have high standards but several bolts weren't even tightened under the hood and also the steering wheel was loose from when he swapped out the cruise control lever from the one I installed cause it was bad. I did do a few thing over the past few weeks. Put new AC vents in. Fixed and organized wiring under the dash(shop left it a mess). Replaced the LED flasher lights on the dash, shortened the glove box, tinted windows, added an air horn(really loud), put a hidden receiver hitch on it. Also hit a 1000 miles on the odometer this week.

Re: Starting a 52 Chevy 3100 Project.

Looks good. Looks like you modified the glove box depth with hot glue like I did on my 48 truck build. Vintage air now supplies a plastic shallow glove box with their AD kits.

No hot glue in AZ. It melts I used staples, super glue, and caulking. I looked for a shallow one but couldn't find one.

I actually like driving this thing more than my 69 Mustang. Drives and handles very smooth, is quiet, windows tinted, A/C and Heat and has cruise control. Is very comfortable.
