The rim color, being kind of satin sure compliments the paint, they work well off each other. Nice choice.

Thanks Steve!

I made them, basically. HID Bi-Xenon projectors.

I did a little write up on it here.

Man this car has been fun. With the LS, it fires up every time, first try, and pulls hard. Can't beat it!

That's been my experience too. There would have to be a real good reason for me to stick with a carb going forward.

Re: My other passion...65' Impala SS

Just found this thread......what a roller coaster! That car is perfect!

A family friend of ours had a '65 SS w/ 327 and powerglide. My best friend from HS married one of his daughters and the guy had a herd, at least 20 cars if not more. Unfortunately he passed away about 3 years ago during open heart surgery and his two daughters split the cars. The other daughter took the SS and my buddy called me last week saying they might sell it. I am first in line hopefully, I want that car for sentimental reasons more than anything but second........I don't know what looks better than a '65 Impala.

Wonderful thread, thanks for sharing the journey!

Re: My other passion...65' Impala SS

Nick, how have you liked your head lights so far? I put some HID's in the wife's ride and aimed them down to keep from getting brighted. Well, I raised them back up so she could see better and now everyone brights her. So I'm looking for new options. I put some led bulbs in the old dodge I bought, but people hate them too. I even got the low power ones. Just can't win. Haha

Hey Diesel, I really like them.

I was pretty methodical in aiming them. I parked in the driveway and put pieces of tape against the garage door where my original lights pointed. Then. I didn't move the car when I did the swap. I aimed the projectors so that the cutoff line was in the same spot, which is perfect for me because they dont shine into the eyes of oncoming traffic, but it feels like the road is twice as bright on my late nigh drives!

Also, I installed the Dakota VHX gauges in it. I love them, and it's nice to have a working gas gauge again!
