Yeah I know; I look at my Blazer 15 feet away for hours on end but can't do what I want till what I NEED to do is done, then quite often out go the lights cause I don't feel like working all night too. It all comes around in time though.

I know that exact feeling, i have two brothers that are both into trucks and we each have 2 projects so we are constantly working on one all at once and each have to patiently wait our turn to do our next mod to our own truck. Sucks waiting but boy is it nice to have help when it comes my turn haha

Re: 68 Four door build

As much as I love these trucks, and how cool the 4 door builds are, I would rather own and drive the cobra anyday. I'm seriously looking at buying a factory 5 kit for my next project after the Jimmy is done. My oldest kid is named after this car. An original steel one will never be in my budget, but I can dream.

I'm right there with you man! I'd love to own one but I have too many other projects right now. Some day, some day!

I don't see how anyone over about 5'5" would fit in a cobra.

Re: 68 Four door build

The kits have deeper footwells built into them, are typically longer and wider overall than the originals.

Not to be a know it all, but judging by the photos, I have to wonder if your 50-60 mph tow speed might have been due to the Burb being too far back on the trailer, causing sway (?) IMO, if it was a little farther forward on the trailer, I think it would have given you more tongue weight. It looks as if you had enough truck to handel the load , 2500HD (?)

Great build, BTW!

Re: 68 Four door build

I have towed a car or two in my time , when I loaded it up the back of the truck dropped alot but looking back at the pictures it looks like I could have went over the stops to get it further forward.
I had just drove all night and was very tired so it didn't matter at the time.
Thanks for pointing it out.

Re: 68 Four door build

I just scanned through your build and its looking good. I'm looking forward to seeing your gauge cluster.

I'm doing similar heater controls. I'm useing these knobs on mine, and I'm waterjet cutting a new faceplate out of brushed aluminum. The knobs are billet aluminum and also available polished.
