I was just wondering how you ran the fuel lines to it but I seen the pictures you posted and seen how you did it.

Come this spring I plan on getting one.

I'm a newbie here and the only reason I joined this forum was to subscribe to this thread, so I hope you keep posting on how it's working for you. I joined a few other forums for the same reason even though I don't have the vehicles that those or this forum are for, I'm a Jeep CJ guy. I haven't read a bad thing about FiTech, yet. The only downside I have been hearing is the ECU is theirs and if (big if) they go under you'll be screwed if you have one. Other than that everyone seems to love this thing.
I know Holley is coming out with their Sniper this spring but for me that will be to late for me. I rather it be out for a month or so before I get it so I can see if it has any issues, kinda like how Holley had to do a new revision to their Truck Avenger carbs because of the off-idle stumble.

Just watched your video. Great sounding truck! What are you running for exhaust?
Did you end up using the timing control feature or not?

Re: 1976 Square "Simple Green"

Thank you. I like the way it sounds myself. I am running headman mid length headers with a x pipe and Borla mufflers. It is 3" from header back.
No I didn't use timing control cause I have the big cap HEI. But from what I can see on the hand held it is doing what it should any changes I made it is doing what I set it to do. I am really pleased with the FiTech EFI!! I am going to get a data log today if it does not rain and read over the data log to verify everything.

So tjsblazer you going to get one for Christmas?!?

Re: 1976 Square "Simple Green"

Honestly this was about as simple of a install as you could have. Simple install and packed with features and at a affordable price. Why wouldn't you buy one?
Also I saw FiTech is releasing a multi port setup!!

Another thing me being me I like customer support. I like people who actually answer the phone listen and answer your questions. Either on the phone or email. Plus I like a company customer service that will BS a little with you on the phone get more on a personal level. Talking about vehicle and what not. Example of good customer service: I sent Ken a few emails about some setting and for some knowledge about the FiTech and the handheld. Even though he was at PRI the man emailed me back on the weekend!! Will Holley do that nope will MSD do that nope will FAST do that nope. Hell he was even traveling back from PRI to Cali and was emailing me between layovers at the the air port. Now that speaks volumes in my book. Great product Great customer service Great Price! What else can you ask for. This is not over guys I am going to keep posting about it. Good or Bad. But it's all good as of now!!

But I am planning on buying a new dizzy. But have not decided on which kind. Idk if I want another HEI or the 2 wire with external coil. HEI I will just hook it up the way I have it but if I get the 2 wire I will let the FiTech control my timing. The only issue I am having is finding a hidden or clean place to mount the external coil. I don't want it on the firewall just does not look good IMO. So at this point idk.

Re: 1976 Square "Simple Green"

Can you give a break down on costs, or at least a total cost to switch to EFI?

Depends on which route you want to go. If you go the way I did.
FiTech EFI 8 $1495 shipped ( they have cheaper)
87 R10 tank "baffled" $94 shipped
87 R10 sending unit $78 shipped
Aeromotive Stealth GM pump $142 shipped (in tank)
Aeromotive Fuel Pump Relay $ 108 shipped (can use a electric fan relay)
-6 An Earls Ultra lite hose 20ft $154 shipped
Fuelab inline Filter $132 shipped
-6 An fittings $97 shipped
Aeroquip fuel hose clamps -6 an and -8 an $20 shipped
New air cleaner base $31 shipped
Various i.e. Heat shrink Butt connectors zip ties heat shrink wrap stuff like that $20

That's it now anyone can get this stuff and do the same!!
It can be done cheaper if you go with FiTech FCC or the inline pump kit they have.

It sure does sound good. Thanks for taking the time to post all the details of the install. I've been wondering about this kit, you took all the question marks out of the equation. Except for what distributor.lol It sounds like you're probably working on that part now.

Too bad about the pump. Was it above the fuel level in the tank? They push really well and they don't do so well on the draw.

Apologies...I missed it is an in tank pump. Why wouldn't Aeromotive cover the failure?

No worries. They will but send it back let them run tests blah blah. They pissed me off first he said I installed it wrong I said Bull**** lol. Then I told him how I had it wired he said you can't run a relay to that pump I said it is your relay made for your pumps. He said O. We'll send it back. Damn tech guy was a dumb ass. I am not waiting on them around this time of year. They will fix it or send me a new one I will have a back up.

"It was calling for full pump power"

$#it, i just installed my Go Efi 4 and i didn't use the fuel pump wire from the Efi harness becaused I figured the one I already had from my EZ wiring harness would do the same thing. But looks like your telling us it does not always send full power to the pump. Looks like i will be calling tech support to verify. Darn... thought I was ready to go.

Yes it was calling for full pump power.

Do you have a in tank pump? The orange wire that is in the FiTech wiring harness need to be hooked up to the fuel pump. It's says that in the directions. It uses a PWM at start up and converts over to a relay. The FiTech has a built in relay. I just added a relay to protect the FiTech 6 pin connector. And it does supply power to the pump. The orange wire supplies power to the pump.

Look at the pic. It shows the wire color and what they do.
Orange. Fuel pump circuit this wire provides 12v to the pump.

Re: 1976 Square "Simple Green"

I know exactly how the PWM works and the relay works. I was told by the co founder Jeremy. But I am not going to post it cause idk if they want that info posted. And speak with someone besides Cody. Ask for Bryce if he can talk.

Re: 1976 Square "Simple Green"

You were right excellent tech support, I'm already off the phone. They said i could run it full power to the pump until i had a chance to wire it to their harness. Looks like I will be running that one last wire. I dont want to make the pressure regulator work harder than it needs to.

Awesome! They do have great support and you just confirmed it!! Yes I agree I would not want the regulator working harder than it needs.
What kind of pump are you running?

Re: 1976 Square "Simple Green"

I just wished the handheld controller was UV and water proof.
I already asked FiTech about that and they said the unit wasn't waterproof and they didn't know about the UV aspect of it.
I only asked because most of the spring/summer/fall I drive my Jeep with no top and I don't care if it's raining since I weatherproof the rest of my interior.
