Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB
Also ordered my Porterbuilt Hood Hinges today from Travis at AZProPerformance. He is a board vendor on here and has been great to deal with. They were having a 5% off sale on the hinges thru the end of May.

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB
Swapped the 700r4 out today for my new th400. I think that will take the abuse of the Big Block much better than the 700r4. Forgot to take pictures. Also met with boardmember Dario1 today. He came all the way down from Maine to NJ to buy the 350 sbc, headers and motor mounts I had forsale. It was great meeting him, very nice guy.

Well this past saturday I wrapped up my th400 install, installed my TCI Aluminum Deep Transmission Pan, put in my Dipstick, torqued down my torque converter, installed my aluminum flexplate cover and put on my new air cleaner.
A few pics:

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB
Yeah I have to take the bags back out, take the fittings out and put Loctite pneumatic thread sealer on them and then re-cut the airlines to make sure they are perfectly straight. I bought a air-line cutter from Ride-tech for like $10.00. Guess this is what happens when you rush lol.

Yeah me too, I'm hoping I can get all the panels mocked up to set the gaps by the end of the summer and get some color on it this fall.

What headers are you using? Also, what motor mounts did you use. I apologize if it is somewhere in this post, I didn't read it all.

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB
Hey Keith, just a word of caution with the champion radiator, I bought one on eBay, lasted less than 4 months in the truck before it cracked and started leaking. They replaced it with no issues. Installed the new one and within 2 months it started leaking, looked like the aluminum stretched and cracked on the tanks. They were going to replace it again but I decided to buy a Be Cool instead. It hasn't leaked a drop!!

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB
Thanks, check out streetsideauto.com. I got mine from there for around $300.00 shipped. They are always running 5% - 10% off sales plus free shipping on orders above $300.00.
