Haha, that's cool. I had the vol up on my laptop, and my wife is all "What IS that?" so now I'm gonna go over to youtube and play some Cypress Hill for her, lol.

Re: Chucks 72 Cheyenne Custom Camper

Chuck I really like your ride. Sorry to hijack but I have a question about your truck that may help me with my K20 build. It seems that the badged custom campers from the Flint plant had a unique location of the door emblem, which wasn't what was specified in the assembly manual (see thread here: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=579296). Is there a chance you can tell me what the distance is from the door edge to the rear of the "Custom" emblem on both the RH/LH sides? I'm adding the emblems to my Flint built K20 and trying to keep it true to the plant. Thanks, Pete

Pete, It looks like they are 2 7/16'' from the edge. Hope this helps..

Re: Chucks 72 Cheyenne Custom Camper

I was missing a/c on the little ride I had, too. I bet Tonto doesn't take any s'crap' from anybody, lol. I would like to see a pic of Tonto loaded down, and know how much it weighed. I bet it was like nothing was back there!

Re: Chucks 72 Cheyenne Custom Camper

Cool! Like there's nothin' back there! You should bring Tonto to the Boro Friday afternoon and check out the cruise in. I'm thinking of busting out the stepside, and should have some progress no one has seen yet.

Hmmmm. I think I'll put my ninja/secret squirrel skills to work and sneak a peek in Matt's shop when he's not looking.

I took my mower to my repairman today in Tonto. It was a scorcher without a/c. Not fun! I'm spoiled with my other trucks having it.

Re: Chucks 72 Cheyenne Custom Camper

Lol, me too! I'm just cranky cause the air in my Cavalier went out again. I already fixed one leak, guess there's another one.

What would be involved in fixing the original air on that truck? I know you have to change to R134, but are all the parts there? I can't remember.

Re: Chucks 72 Cheyenne Custom Camper

No its been robbed of the compressor, brackets, hoses, condenser, dryer etc. I would't put a lot of money in an original system anyway. Done that before. VA is the way to go.

Re: Chucks 72 Cheyenne Custom Camper

I had forgotten that was all gone. I went back to the beginning, though, and saw the pics.

P.S....I'm debating on taking my stepside to Ron's. Either way, we should see Who all is going, and try to go together. We could put 3 in the stepside!

Re: Chucks 72 Cheyenne Custom Camper

Chuck
I think the truck looks a whole lot nicer than when you got it from me. You definitely put a lot of effort into it. I bet it sells quickly and then youll be looking for another one to build next year....
Funny, I never noticed that the custom camper badges were in a different location on the doors than my Janesville truck.
I looked through your whole build thread and loved it.
This winter I am going to come spend a Saturday and catch up and if you decide to keep the truck Ill bring the caps and if you part it out well, Ill bring em anyway.
Glad you had fun with it my friend and hope to see you one day soon.
Tim

Re: Chucks 72 Cheyenne Custom Camper

Thanks Tim. I've put a lot of work into it and so has my buds. The truck is nice and deserves to be saved and /or used but I am in need of cash for my new truck.
