Re: Long Project: Orange Julius

Yea guys, that is actually a nice big ol grease and dirt spot. Lol the crossmember was in really good condition.
Aggie, I believe you can run boost with these, however the tuning software is limited to a certain HP number. I can't quite remember what it is though

Re: Long Project: Orange Julius

Well finally after a log time coming, progress is being made!
I took the LS2 heads to the machine shop for a valve job, everything looked great. Installed my new dual valve springs and cleaned them up.
Took the cam out of the block only to find that the cam bearings were completely shot... I guess nobody carries them in stock either, so those took a nice 3-4 days to get here. Once we started to put in the first bearing, we realized that the 1 and 5 bearings were the wrong ones... WAY too big, like almost 1/16" diameter too big.
Got the replacements for those in, and wow! Such a difference.. Should be working on getting the crank/rods/pistons back in one night this week followed by the heads and a nice shot of fresh paint
I am soo excited!!!
Pics to come this week

Trailing arm member installed and arms installed...

Now she sits so hard I can't get the jack out... And its a super low profile jack too

Also traded a guy from work, my old truck LQ9 oil pan for a corvette alternator/PS bracket! Should be picking up the alternator from him tomorrow.

Re: Long Project: Orange Julius

Well, I managed to splurge to get a new torque converter from Circle D Industries, 30" tilt keyless floor shift column, and new bell housing for my trans this last week in hopes of getting the engine in, and the truck rolling...

I ended up finishing up the install of my ACCUAIR VU4 manifold, 5 gal tank and SwitchSpeed controller.

Then this weekend I go to get the torque converter installed and mate the engine to the trans only to find out my pump on the trans is shattered! Just ordered the new pump and seal kit today... Hoping to get the engine and trans in the truck this weekend!

Re: Long Project: Orange Julius

Progress has been made ladies and gents... With many beads of sweat and many more choice vocabulary, the engine and trans are in!!!
It only took a new set of engine perches from Nate and a large hole in the floor

Just in time to get transported to her new home in Utah!

Thanks man! I have to tear it all back apart here shortly though... I realized that my choice in DM is gonna require me to cut some more of my inner fender area out. Meaning I will need some new PBFab hinges!

Re: Long Project: Orange Julius

Well, its been a sad week... I had to sell the truck in efforts to pay off some debts. She left the garage yesterday for her new home. The new owner will do it well, and give it the finishing it deserves.

Thanks for the following guys, I really appreciate all the love
