Re: My new project 86 Silverado

talked to my engine builder Monday, they have the long block done, all but the pushrods, they had to order a different length for the new cam.

hopefully they can throw the tins on it in the next few days and get it done, can't wait to get it installed!

Re: My new project 86 Silverado

Don't remember if i listed my engine's final build info, so here it is...

1976 Oldsmobile 455 that I picked up from my buddy X-cabsquarebody over at c10forum - thanks man

I had the following done to it...

Block bored .030 over
Honed with torque plates
Decked
Mains align honed
Crank turned/polished .010/.010, straightened
Factory rods reworked, ARP bolts
Factory high compression pistons advertised as 10.25:1 - i'll have to calculate true ratio when I verify the cc of the heads
Hastings moly rings
Clevite main/rod bearings
Melling high volume oil pump/pickup/drive rod
Rotating assembly balanced with dampener and flex plate installed
Clevite cam bearings
Bullet hyd cam - .512 lift 230/284 duration on both int/ex on a 110 LS
Matching valve springs 110lbs closed, 285lbs open
Cloyes true double roller timing set
Heads reworked with new hardware - I had larger 2.07 int and 1.68 exhaust valves installed, performance valve job
New lifters/pushrods/rocker arms
Stock 4 barrel intake
Modified 800cfm Quadrajet, 76 main jets - 48 primary rods - DB secondary rods
Chrome valve covers
All Felpro gaskets
Painted original GM blue

450+ horsepower 500++ torque
Nice sleeper

Thats about it... if I remember anything else i'll post it

Will post pics of it when I pick it up, hopefully soon

Re: My new project 86 Silverado

Just a suggestion, but finish up with 320 before primer, saves some time with the block sanding.
