I am thinking of going with a roll pan.

Thought about of doing a molded truck bumper as well.

Re: 1981 Chevrolet C50 Pick-up Conversion

looks like you could put a roll pan on there and a bumper would mount on the frame rails with just the right spacing

Re: 1981 Chevrolet C50 Pick-up Conversion

Here's a few of mine. There are metal or fiberglass roll pans available. I usually don't put bumpers or hitches on my trucks since different buyers want their own design and each state has their own unique requirements regarding height & width.

I think a nice metal bumper might hide the frame a little better but im sure whatever you do will look good

Re: 1981 Chevrolet C50 Pick-up Conversion

I think I will likely go with the roll pan. I have been doing some looking and a company I used to work for will sell me a metal ones for under a hundred.

Note taken... Ha. I guess that is why some of my far away friends keep asking me when I am getting this truck done...

I then send them to this site.

Re: 1981 Chevrolet C50 Pick-up Conversion

Slow day at my office, so I came home and got some color on the doors and lower fenders...

Upper fenders done, front valance done.

Need to get the gas doors, hood and inside box done. Hope to start hanging doors and fenders tomorrow.

Ordered some window rubbers and felts today from LMC... Have to buy some door weather strip as well. Cheaper here...

I am also on the hunt for a tailgate. I have a GMC tailgate and a Chevrolet grill. Have to see what is easier to find, I am thinking the tailgate.

Moving along... please disregard the blue tape, waiting until both sides are aligned to remove...

Starting to shape up a little more.

Re: 1981 Chevrolet C50 Pick-up Conversion

So with it being Thanksgiving long weekend here in Canada, and knowing I have to leave tomorrow morning to hang out with in-laws I could not bare the thought of not seeing what the truck looks like without the front valance.

Called my Dad and he was more than happy to assist. We got it on and everything aligned.

Worked at cleaning up some of the fender and rad support items. With all this done up I should be able to run this up the road and hopefully through some gears...

I have a few things to blast up and paint, like the lower fender support (See picture). A lot of little things I have been procrastinating on....

Re: 1981 Chevrolet C50 Pick-up Conversion

So I am thinking about bumpers.... I have a couple ideas.

I may take the less expensive route and paint my existing bumper for the time being...

However, I am thinking about going with these two bumpers on the front and back...

I would very much like to get the front bumper for this truck, however, I am debating the cost.... The rear drop bumper is kept in stock with a body parts supplier I deal with.

Bumper cost is $413.22
Shipping/handling cost $268.55 via truck freight from California to Ontario, Canada. I may see what the shipping is to Mission Texas where my parents winter and then get them to bring it back with them...

This makes it a pricey part...

With that in mind, I am trying to put together a deal on this front bumper.
