Re: 72' C/10 Deluxe

Ok, on the left side of your engine bay you have a small box, right next to the radiator. Is it plugged in? Does it have a harness sitting there, loose? That's your voltage regulator. If it is not plugged in, batter will die on you.

As or the two wires, you may need to do what I did. Rewire the whole truck. Those don't remind me of anything I saw...except maybe radio wires

GOOD news! it looks like my harness is correct. and I think I have found the problem. connected to the red alt./battery wire was, not one, but TWO crappy relays AND a electrical tape splice that was melted through and corroded. I bypassed both and rewired the nasty melted part. so now I "should" (knock on wood) have charging power. Most people would say that "hey aren't those relays important?" to which i answer no, they were literally connected to no where. one was an old stereo wire and the other was just a cut off wire. I should slap who ever wired this truck....

Looks like an isolator. My guess is someone had a second battery in the truck. If it's not being used I would get that out and clean up the wiring. That may solve your charging problem. As for the grey and black wires...pull one fuse at a time until they go dead. At east then you will know what area of your system to look at to find the source. Good luck!

i do seem to have a prob still of starving her. every time i start it seems like not enough gas. and i just replaced the fuel pump.

Btw. To replace top radiator hose so it's a non flex hose (molded hose) part # 20607 gates. All you have to do is chop off an inch. Works great for big blocks too!

Re: 72' C/10 Deluxe

This is what I posted online after i found out someone called the city, needless to say its on my side yard again, and I will fix it very soon. I'm tired at staring at my parts.

"someone had the balls to call my truck "Abandon" and called the city...... guess what people, just for that? its getting fixed in 10 days, primed and im going to tear up and down the street at 11pm just to f*** with you!"

Re: 72' C/10 Deluxe

i got a new job, and i work 6 days a week now.... well guess what! i got to send my truck over to a good friend of mine, Cobo's Customs...http://www.facebook.com/cobos.custom and i cant wait till all the mechanic work is done. most likely swapping the th350 for a 700r4 so i can get better gas mileage out of it. may keep my old carb too depending on how it is.

now I need a good body shop in phoenix,

this is going to be pricey if you hire it all out. Body work is not that hard and a lot of members did there first paint job on their truck. Just a thought

Re: 72' C/10 Deluxe

When I first bought my 69 the shifter was supper sloppy and I could only get into reverse by going into drive and then back up to reverse lol. It was a warn out and almost broken in half piece of the bracket that moved the lever then comes off the trans. You are right up the road from me so let me know if you ever need a hand.
