Re: 96 Caprice N2billet Style

I've had this idea recently (inspired by 68SWB4x4's wagon), but I know you'll do it better than I can, even in my imagination!

I was thinking black front/rear with white doors, like old school cop cruisers...Name: mopp_0410_01_z+1989_diplomat_police_car+stealth_bomber.jpg

The stock wheels that are on it now.....I was shocked that they fit into the centerline wheel as good as they did!

you could also use bulldog adhesion promoter after they are sanded to help the paint stick even better, that stuff works great, but its $15+ a can

Re: 96 Caprice N2billet Style

Thought you might enjoy a few of these - my old 96 Impala SS. This car gave me the mod bug real bad & it just kept getting more fun to drive the more mods it got. Hope you enjoy the same with yours!!

The plates said SSLEEPR but it was also known as Pimpala once these wheels were installed. Eibach springs, huge sway bars, detrimmed - drove like it was on rails.

Flowed & port matched LT4 topend, HOT CAM, custom program, SLP headers, lots of polish aluminum & stainless.

Interior was almost all gray in the beginning - added some black for more character.

Re: 96 Caprice N2billet Style

My first '96 was one of the best cars I ever owned. I absolutely loved that car. Someone else must have, too. It was stolen from my apartment in 2000. That was a road trippin' machine.

That sucks to hear. Drove mine a lot too. Almost 47k when those pics were taken.

Something for n2billet: I installed a SEO switch the cops used right of the radio. One was outside the glove box trunk switch & the other I used to pull down the power antenna when using discs. I also converted the E/M odometer switch on the left to a ignition cutoff switch. Ignition acted like a dead battery if that thing was off. Won't stop everyone but figured it might slow a street thug down enough to leave.

Thanks for the compliments. I've always had a love affair with Big Chevy cars. Parents had a 62 Impala (327?), 69 Caprice (427), 76 Caprice Classic (400) when I was growing up. LMK if you want any pics for some ideas as I've got some better close up shots of the motor & interior (notice all the chrome door buttons blacked out with Plasti-Dip spray paint).

BTW, those wheels look SHARP with the solid polish disc like that. I kinda like the cap looking brushed too. Just keep having fun with yours & make it the way you want it.

Looks great, I'm sure it will be as bad ass as everything else you touch. How to you plan on attaching the center caps?
