My wheel idea for 20" steelies

I believe wheel vintiques makes 20's that look like the steel wheels. I believe they may be aluminum though.

Who is they??? THAT is what I'm looking for!

I called wheel vintiques a couple weeks ago when I started this thread and they said they no longer make the 20" billet smoothies. They gave me a number to a company that I think they said they sold the wheel design to. I'll have to call them back because I never wrote it down. They don't make any 20" steel wheel either. Biggest they make is 18"

They were only $595 each.... w/limited backspacing to boot. At double the cost of centerlines smoothies, I sure would want BS options.

These look nice at $360. I like the stepped lip. I wonder why they are not on the Centerline website?

But again.... too much back spacing for my taste. Yes, technically they could work, but the wheels would be pulled in .5-1" more than the 'standard' for 6x-87 disc brake equipped trucks (20x8.5's w/5 to 5.5bs). Again, they'll fit but you'd have to start being concerned w/contact being made on the inside of the wheel/tire assembly (sway bar, inner wheel well, a-arms, etc...).

Also.... some guys (like me) want wider rears. Nobody seems to make them regardless of mfr. You can widen them for around $250ea but that usually adds to the already agressive back spacing (10" rears typically need between 5-6" of bs).

They are.
20x8.5, 20x10, 20x12, and 22x9.

You might have to narrow the rearend,... but those 20x12's with 4.5" BS would look good on the back.

Centerline's site is weird. Whomever set it up needs a good kick in the seat. I never noticed the smoothies in the other series of wheels (just the California series smoothie/truck section).

It's funny how this thread has come full circle. SCOTI and I recommended Centerlines at the beginning. If this is the way you want to go, they are the cheapest option. But, if you're dealing with 20"s, and you want anything with with width and backspace, be prepared to shell out some dough.

I went through all of this 3 years ago, and finally gave up. For the look I wanted versus the price I wanted to pay, it wasn't worth it (to me).

I know what you mean. I'm still undecided, but the price and timelessness of new 15's from wheel vintiques is hard to beat.

price is always the factor. I could have bought close to 2 sets of billets for the amount my steelies cost to have done. mostly because the black chrome.

but i have a set of wheels nobody else does.

What is every bodies opinion on 17" wheels? Think they look right on a bagged truck? I found that rallyamerica carries a 17" steelie that will accept a stock hubcap.

Stick with 20's.

These are 18" wheels I did last year, they were made to accept a stock hubcap.

18x8's & 18x10's, I had a friend digitize a 15" steel wheel. I machined the centers, & had Eric Vaughn assemble them. We welded rivets in the back side to make them look oem. Eric plug welded them along the outside of the hoop, so there would be no visible welds. The customer painted them white when they were finished.

Very nice. The centers are dead-on for steelies. If you don't mind.... how much was it to build them?
