beadlocks might not be street legal in VT
damn i'm too embaressed to show my truck untill a lift it, any week now... Actually thur pics on the board already  But i dont want to give anything away just yet...BTW.... 3/4 axles - and you're ONLY lifting it 2" w/ 33"S and a 350 - 3/4 axles is going to be OVERkill for that....... - Why dont you mail them out to CA for me I'm going to see what my 10 bolt can hold w /some (atleast) 33's if not larger. I think i want @ least a 12bolt though before i get a locker which i think i want to get before the lift but... the wallet well permit only so much.

I was able to find some SSR's by Super Swamper in 16.5.
I got a set of meager 33x12.5's coming my way soon.  Still waiting on the E-Z ride springs but they should be here next week, already got all the other stuff from ORD. Gotta get out there and pull the 3/4 ton axels from under the 68,000 original mile donor truck pretty quick. Not a huge build by any means but I'm looking forward to getting out and playing.

I don`t think that`s overkill considering 35s would be the maximum.

are you sayying 35's would be the max on 3/4 axles? LOL i dont think so. We ment that 3/4's axles are a bit over kill for 33's - but yea , if ya got'm ! why not

Hey VT ~ If you are gonna have bigger than 35" swampers then with your auto tranny I would get 4.56 ratio, if yer gonna stay with 35" or smaller then 4.11 would work.
I have alot of different favs that I did to mine.. Line Lock on front brakes ( I have a SM465 4spd) Warn CM axels and CTM U-joints in my front D44 High-Angle Drivelines (the beefiest I could buy for my truck, thick 120wall) Skid plates = Front diff cover, dual Xmember under tranny & T-case, Rock sliders and homemade GasTank Skid for my 37gal gas tank. Go rid of the flimsy sparetire gate I had and made a very stout one to hold my 35" SSR spare. Instead of adding on-board air to my engine I went with a PowerTank and mounted it behind the rear seat. The power tank or Co2 is AWSOME. You can reset a bead even with the tire on the truck(ratchet strap and jack required). Dual Batteries are a MUST. This has saved me more than once. HD bumpers with a winch has been a very good help also.... Anyway alot more 'stuff' too list but thoes are the ones that stand out most. It has taken me over 10yrs to collect all this stuff so hopefully you won't have to wait as long hahahahaha Good Luck Burt  PS defenitally get Fuel Injection of somekind, throttle responce is great fun.

Reread through this old thread and wanted to update everybody.
I ended up going in an entirely different direction than originally anticipated...  Came away with what I feel will fit the bill. It won't be my daily driver, it is street legal but barely. I believe it has ALL the stuff ererybody was good enough to post about too. Winch/lockers/Staun bead locks/on board air (power tank)/full cage/Carbeau buckets/harness/doubler/4whl disks/up graded drive shafts/5:13's/39.5 TSL's/high pinion Dana/14 bolt FF/rock sliders/trimmed sheet metal/soft top/totally beefed up th-400 and a tilt colunm. Thanks for all the input folks.

Barely street legal Hope i can make it out to my place near Buttland(rutland) at some point. Doesnt seem like i missed anything this ski season, was better off being where i'm at on the Left side How are the sliders connected - pictures when you have time please! Hey Kurt, how did you like Raush Creek. We were up at Paragon 2 weeks ago, and have one planned for June.
I can't believe you came down from Vt. to use this trail, is there nothing like this up there? We had an old International with us that couldn't make it up one long incline, we had to winch him part of the way. When we were done it was a dirty air cleaner that was stopping him from making HP Jim |

To all Jeepers,"It`s a full-size thing,ypu wouldn`t understand".Jeeps are the only new vehicles that look like a true off-road vehicle and are living on the reputation from the`40s when it was the only 4wd most folks had ever heard of.In reality,a stock Jeep has a spindely gutless drivetrain from factory.The Rubicon is a great improvement since it has axles as tough as a 35 year old Blazer,finally.Jeeps are great after you go all over them and change-out all the factory stuff.I like the Jeep body as much as the Jeep fanatics.BTW,there`s alot of `tude from Land Rover & Hummer guys,too.Whatever!

We had a GREAT time!!! Didn't see any attitude, but we did see alot of altitude. One trail, triple blue, had huge rocks. It was the first trip out for my third sons j**p. He bought as a basket case w/350, he did a good job on the build.Broke a shock, power steering line( bad crimp) and over heated, I forgot to turn the fan on.
We didn't do any black trails,yet Hopefully the Jimmy will be done by next trip. The full size International did fit every where we went, but his steering radius was terrible, so he did a couple of back ups. At the end of the day they locked us in. Kinda funny, its really hard to lock extreme rock climbers in. Since we were climbing bigger rocks then they had pilied around the entrance. haha I'm off to Rochester, so I'll speak to you in a couple of days, Graduation Day. Last One Jim |

That's what I was referring too. @ Paragone, the rules are going to ruin it. If your not out by a certain time, they'll fine you for it! (if your caught) I'm sure they have all the right reason's (in their minds) for imposing a bunch of rules on 4x4 folk but one thing I know for sure is that the group of guys I wheel with will never go back there. UPDATE:
More good info has been learned. Went to Paragon in early Sept. with 5 other trucks. We had an awesome time and the folks at the park were great. One of the guys knows the owner so we got to play on the RED trails without a guide for two full days. New experience for me running trails like that.  The blazer did okay but still needs a couple more mods to really play on that kind of terrain. 1st issue I ran into: Pulled my front shaft apart on Bamm-Bamm, so I ordered a new one from High Angle with a 12" slip and while doing it, went with the better yolks and u-joints. Next issue: Had to winch a small amount on Death Spike but would of made it had the front been a locker instead of a limited slip. That's been remedied as well, decided to go with a spool and a 4340 axle set w/heavy duty u-joints there too. So hopefully it's good to go after these mods...ka-ching!
