Re: Remote master cylinder mounted under dash

Hey, The progress is slow. I have managed to exopy my cab and am working on raising the bed floor so I can exopy prime it and the front end. As you can see I like it. I have also completed my rear disc brake set up and got the front brakes on. I also painted my engine body color and this past weekend painted my transmission, no pictures yet. My wife came down ill again a couple of weeks ago and my time with the truck therefore has slowed down. She's beginning to feel better so hopefully I can get back to the shop. Thanks for asking.

I like that a lot! That's going on the list of future mods for one of my rides... Now if I can just do remote control steering, the firewall will be CLEAN Oh ya, rest of it looks great too!!

Re: Remote master cylinder mounted under dash

Jlaird, I use a hodge-podge system. I purchased a set of plans for $20 off of E-bay. The plans were set up for camaro calipers, if you wanted an E-brake or Chevy front calipers otherwise. The plans came with full size prints for the caliper brackets. I used Cadillac calipers so I had to drill out the brackets different from the plans. Everything has fit well. I used the brake hoses and the short e-brake cables from the cadillac. If you don't have to wide a wheel the 15 inch wheels will fit over everything with plenty of clearance.

Re: Remote master cylinder mounted under dash

I hope you have better luck with the ABS master cylinder then my buddy had. After problems with it, having ABS replace the pump and M/C twice, we ripped all of it out and went with a Hydraboost system. Works awesome now.

Truck looks great BTW!

Re: Remote master cylinder mounted under dash

I purchased that up in Carlisle about 5 years ago from the Truck shop. It came with tank, straps and sending unit. If memory serves me correct it is a 21 gallon tank but, please don't quote me.

Re: Remote master cylinder mounted under dash

do you have pictures of the installed setup? on page 19 of your build you have a few pictures but i dont see how a booster is going to fit without removing the wiper motor..unless you just took yours out? i was assuming you didnt because you left cogs

Re: Remote master cylinder mounted under dash

I'm going to use the street rod wiper set up. I have not installed it yet. I got the kit from justin. I had planed to install one of these kits anyways since the factory option of not fast enough and wide open on the wipers doesn't work for me.
If you run a manual brake set up you can actually use the factory wipers. I've seen several guys do it that way.

Re: Remote master cylinder mounted under dash

so if i have a 3 speed column id just have to go to a floor shifter to use under dash kit? I was going to go frame mount but im doing l/ts and cutouts on the exhaust so that doesn't leave a ton of room.

also do you have any information/pics on the wiper set up? i didnt see anything on their site about it thanks again

ill give scotts a call tomorrow

Re: Remote master cylinder mounted under dash

On the wiper kit we offer it is a specialty wiper motor kit. This kit has a 2sp and intermediate speed as well. This will give you plenty of room with our under the dash pedal assy we manufacture. We have both in stock and ready to ship out.
