Re: Look what arrived in my driveway an AZ 72 K5

it was here local actually a local truck junk yard had it he is one of us.... this thing has been sitting on the top of an old cube van for yrs.... fully assembled. I had to snag it esp for 250 it fit right in the back of my 97 GMC the hood is quite surface rusty but I think im gonna donate it to my 70 K5 which may serve as a driveway plow if i cannot get rid of her.... he has another couple nice 59-72 chevy hoods... I already have a 67 and a 68 hood 67 on the K5 the 68 came with the "BEAST"

And which junkyard is this that you found them in? I might be interested in checking it out.

Re: Look what arrived in my driveway an AZ 72 K5

The BBC pump has an inlet tube that runs up to the bottom of the resevoir, I have one on the 454 going into the 2wd Blazer I am building right now, once I get to that point, I'll get some picts of it!

Re: Look what arrived in my driveway an AZ 72 K5

ok so I got tired of looking at shabby primer and decided to Earl Scheib the blazer to seal her up before winter.... DAed the primer off to a Ochre seal coat... heres what i have... I wanna smooth a couple areas quick with some filler and shoot it with some white equipment enamel from NAPA... I figure i might as well hone the painting skills on this... if it looks good i can enjoy it a couple yrs before i get to the recon...

Eager to see your results, I really ought to do something like that with my K5, one color would be kinda nice!

Re: Look what arrived in my driveway an AZ 72 K5

Looks good. Got good progress since I saw it. I haven't really even touched mine since then.

Are you planning on replacing the Torsion boxes, building your own, or caging it?

Re: Look what arrived in my driveway an AZ 72 K5

Now that I have the garage back I can work on the Beast... it was rainy yesterday and today but i got the clip switched... its not the best paint job but its one color and sealed up for now.... still have to relpace the Pass rocker and instal the torsion boxes next year
ony thing i have to do is install bumpers... not sure if i will go with a white rear bumper or a black one... i have a "sport" bumper that was painted... its now in POR15.... the front bumper i have is chrome... that is faded so it is either staying chrome or painted

the top on the SPID says white..im kinda leaning toward the black.... with black bumpers.... your thoughts are encouraged and welcome the truck was a white plain jane white top and i assume white bumpers...
Mike do you know anything about it?
