Re: Porterbuilt Hood Hinges for 67-72

Update:

I have all the hinge kits boxed up and ready to go... just waiting on the machined spacers for the hinge arm. I was supposed to have them by last Friday (the day I had planned to ship 10 kits), but they were delayed. According to the USPS tracking I should see them today. I will let everybody know when the kits leave!

I have seen the new site in the works and it will be very cool and user friendly so Nate can try and keep up with his own new products

I too have a set of the hood hinges coming for my 72 4 Door Tahoe. I will be doing a full How-to on the install as well. I have also had conversation with Nate on the gas strut set up and it sounds like it will be a nice easy add on to the new hinges. I will put up a link in this thread when the write up is done or you can check back with the main build Here!

Re: Porterbuilt Hood Hinges for 67-72

Mine showed up tonight!! I hope to have a chance to do the install and write up by mid next week if not sooner.
Have you guys seen what comes in the kit? Quality cut and welded parts, machined bushings and a but load of SS nuts, bolts, flat washers and lock washers. Out of all the hardware the only things that are not SS are the two pivot bolt sets and I assume that is just because SS does not have a ware rate like Non SS does. Definitely well worth what the asking price is and then some.
Thanks Nate for another Great product!

Re: Porterbuilt Hood Hinges for 67-72

I already got mine installed. I'll try to get some pics as soon as I get a chance. Check and make sure your bolts screw into the nuts welded to the back of the plate that welds to the hood. I had some issues with mine. The Hood lined up great!

Re: Porterbuilt Hood Hinges for 67-72

I have a little piece of wood holding the front up so I can get my fingers in there to lift it. Without springs it doesn't pop up when you unlatch it.
