convert K5 or buy C5?

Alright guys got a question i picked up a rough 68 front clip for my project but i now found a clean gmc clip should i make it a gmc or keep the 68 front clip

Go with the one you like better in the end...but just make sure the tailgate matches or is shaved...

If you want my opinion...I'd do the 68...but I'm biased...lol

Yeah i love the 68 and the jimmy front clips might have to search to look amore 2wd blazers and jimmys i agree 100% on the tailgate matching.

Body work SUCKS!!!! Last night found some shoddy work by the PO...somehow got 4 bolts and a plate behind the panel above the right taillight...bad parts are: 1, it's high; 2, the bolts aren't welded to the body (filler only); 3, I hate looking at it!

We moved on and are going to deal with it at his shop...mainly his boss will be able to cut it out and form it for $50...so can't complain too much...I just wanted to say I didn't pay anyone and had a hand in all of this...oh well...rather it not look like a$$...lol

After tonight and excluding that part, both sides of the blazer are ready for a full primer and real blocking...just the tailgate and grill left and hopefully no surprises.

I think the cheezy stuff above the right tail light is a factory "rough-in" for a spare tire swing out rack. Mine had the same, with a bar welded to it to stuff it up there. I'm a bodyman by trade, and yeah, sometimes it sucks.

Ahh... That makes sense since there were holes in the tailgate that I couldn't understand either! I guess that makes me feel better, but we either have to cut it out or build it up. I have a whole new respect for body guys... This is my 1st ever adventure and even though it's nice that I'm learning, I'm tired of having to fix highs/lows that I've created lol. My friend says we are 2 weeks put from primer...

Sorry to jack the thread... But the more I think about it, the more I lean towards a conversion... I don't like that mine being a real 2wd doesn't get as low as a converted one with a basic bag job.

If it helps, remember that a Chevy '68 doghouse is the same as a '68+ GMC doghouse, except for the hood and grille.

what are you refering to as the dog house? the radiator support? usually a dog house is the engine cover in a van. lol

Yeah doghouse = Frontclip Yeah i might just buy the jimmy front clip and take the best of both to make a clean clip whatever that comes out to i will use.

Tubbed II I agree the converted will drop alot lower and cheaper to get you there but im not gonna go that low yet just wanna get the floors fixed and drivable

Aye, the front clip. I hate that term and refuse to use it because people use it for both the suspension and sheetmetal. That, and doghouse is what we call them in salvage yards.

lol I must have been a little bit more tired than I realized last night. Seeing as how the fenders are really the only thing that interchanges, I don't know what the point of my post was.
