Haha, I'm pretty sure my wife would shoot me if I had another project. Actually trading my 51 Plymouth for a Sea Doo tomorrow.

Re: Finally a c10 owner, now the "fun" begins...

I actually still have a few things to order before I'm ready to start the swap. I've been taking it easy lately trying to keep the wife calm since the kids birthdays are coming up soon and xmas is shortly after that. A sea doo doesn't sound like much fun this time of year considering you live up north. One of my co-workers lives in MO

Yeah, the timing for the Sea Doo isn't very good but at least I will get some use out of it, my Plymouth just sat there for the last three years.

Re: Finally a c10 owner, now the "fun" begins...

Finally have some pics of the truck lowered, ended up getting about 4-4.5" depending on the corner you measure from. I ended up cutting 1.5 coils off the front and 5" cpp drop springs in the back. 1.5 coils seemed to be about perfect, at full droop I could get the coil to move but not come out of the pocket and it sits about 1/4" off the front bump stops. I am planning on cutting them but honestly, it rides great as it is. It's like the bump stop is a progressive spring, lol.

Oh, and I put my Vega steering wheel on, with a new left turn signal spring. It is crazy how an inch or two smaller wheel and your left blinker turning off when it is supposed to makes driving this thing so much more pleasant.

Re: Finally a c10 owner, now the "fun" begins...

Oh, and not sure if you can see all three of them but when I went into the garage to swap steering wheels I had the dogs come out with me. All three of them jumped in the truck and wanted to go for a ride.

Re: Finally a c10 owner, now the "fun" begins...

Little update, my wife found some seats out of a 99 suburban that she bought me for Christmas, so hopefully I will be tossing them in sometime this weekend. And I need to take some more pics.

That seat looks real comfy, does it allow you to sit lower?
Nice find.

Re: Finally a c10 owner, now the "fun" begins...

It is comfy, but it actually sits a tad higher than the stock bench. I have a smaller wheel than stock or it would be a pain to get in and out. I am planning on modifying the mounts so it sits closer to stock height, but I just wanted to get them in there today and didn't have the metal I need to change these up.

Funny you posted Bomp, I was actually just watching your flowing z video. Your truck is amazing, I wish i could stretch my dads 66. He is 6'4" and a tight squeeze in his also.

Nice looking truck. Looks like you got off to a good start. And I've always liked the Trailblazer SS. Your springs came out looking like mine did. One of my front springs was bent close to a "U". Good luck on your build!
